Dr Iris Schrijver is a tenure track lecturer at the Department of Applied Linguistics, Translation and Interpreting at the University of Antwerp (Belgium), where she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on Spanish-Dutch translation and in Translation Studies. Her research focuses on cognitive aspects of translation processes, the text-productive aspect of translation, and interlingual live subtitling competence. As a member of the departmental Educational Committee, she gained expertise in curriculum design and writing learning outcomes. Within the framework of her doctoral dissertation about the effect of writing training on translation performance, she has gained expertise in translation competence acquisition. Of particular relevance for this project is her expertise in empirical research (process studies), and in particular her expertise in curriculum design. In addition, she has experience in project supervision (internally funded one-year and four-year research projects, e.g., on reception of subtitled English-taught lectures).
