Dr Luis Alonso Bacigalupe will be a researcher in the project. He teaches simultaneous interpreting at the University of Vigo. His research focuses on the application of the empirical paradigm to simultaneous interpreting. He is the author of a three-levelled information processing model for simultaneous interpretation intended as a guide for the training of successful future conference interpreters. A second line of research includes the definition and measurement of quality in simultaneous interpreting and the development of computerized tools for translation and interpreting.
He has recently developed a taste for issues surrounding accessibility, i.e. the provision of translation services to compensate for the limitations of people with sensory impairments.
